While I was stationed in Mannheim, Germany between 1974-76, I bought a motorcycle. A Kawazaki 750cc H2. No sooner had I got the bike on the road I was approached by some other biking G.I.s who invited me to join a club. What was to follow was my initiation into the Cavemen Motorcycle club and some of the best times and most fun during my tour in Germany. Below are rally pins and badges that were purchased at the events and as a reminder of the weekends. The Cavemen were a well respected group made up of German and American members and unlike other parts of the world, at that time, all the various motorcycle groups got on and enjoyed each other's company. Even the German police left us alone once we entered the fields that would be our rally sites. Good times.
As I still have my original cutoff showing the faded outline of the Cavemen MC back patch, I also have these rally pins and badges from the groups I met. I think someone worked at a printers to be able to create the CM plate above including making the sticker that is illustrated. Although I was active between 1974-76, my home was in the UK, so I was able to make short trips for the rallies after that date.
